PCB and IAAM Discuss Internal Audit Challenges and Potential Future Collaborations

The PCB team met with the IAAM (Internal Audit Association of Maldives) to discuss challenges and identify areas for collaboration, focusing on strengthening internal audit practices and promoting good governance.

The PCB President Mohamed Anas, along with Director Usaidh Asadhulla, and Director Mariyam Soafiya, recently held a constructive meeting with the Internal Audit Association of Maldives (IAAM) to initiate discussions on improving corporate oversight and accountability.

The meeting was specifically held to address shared challenges within the current internal audit landscape and to identify concrete areas for collaboration between the two entities. The central focus of the dialogue was twofold: strengthening internal audit practices across government businesses, and collaboratively advancing the principles of good governance in the Maldives.

The outcome of the meeting is the foundation for future joint initiatives aimed at enhancing auditor professionalism and improving audit independence, as well as improving awareness about the strategic value of the internal audit function to SOE management and Boards.
